Rhizome Sytems has developed a groundbreaking system which allows consumers to take control of their power bill. The Watttracker power moitoring network is simple and inexpensive to install, while provding users highly detailed information about what individual appliances and devices are using. Each Wattch Dog unit connects to the Watttracker over a self-healing 802.15.4 wireless network. New units are automatically recognized for easy configuration. The electricity consumer now has the tools estimate their montly bill and identify "vampire devices" or other sources of waste.

The Watttracker unit is the central storage and brains of the Watttacker system. The unit collects information from each Wattch Dog unit and organizes the information into useful graphs and statistics available to the consumer on a secure web page. A single Watttracker can manage the information from hundreds Wattch Dog nodes and can store the usage statistics for 10+ years! The web page presents the user with helpful information such as the current usage, usage over the last day or month and can assist the user in projecting this month's bill. Power usage is presented in dollars and cents giving the consumer a clear understanding of the impact of their decisions.

Each Wattch Dog unit records energy use with billing quality accuracy ensuring consummers an accurate picture of their consumption. The Wattch Dog unit is small and inexpensive allowing for a wide variety of packaing options. Wattch Dogs can be installed with a plug in module, as a drop-in replacement for standard electrical outlets or at any other point in the electrical system.
